In an attempt to further reduce its CO2 emissions the company has just completed the installation of a 99kw photovoltaic ray on one its buildings. Chairman George Snell said "We are continually looking at ways to reduce our electricity usage and become even more eco-friendly and the installation of solar panels allows us to do just that"
This is just one of the many improvements the business is making to improve efficiencies, reduce costs and ensure that customers are provided with the best possible value. This is becoming even more important as the cost of raw material wood continues to rise and indeed they have risen by over 20% in the last 6 months due to ever increasing demand for wood fuel.
Certainly Wood has had another very busy winter particularly during December which was one of the coldest months on record, but surprisingly the first 3 months of this year have actually been much milder than last year, however demand has remained strong.
